Features:
High Tensile Strength;Manufactured from high-tenacity polyester yarns, Polyester Geogrid provides exceptional tensile strength for soil reinforcement and load distribution.
Low Elongation;Maintains structural stability under heavy loads with minimal deformation, ensuring long-term performance.
Excellent Creep Resistance;Designed to withstand continuous loads over extended periods, making it ideal for permanent civil engineering structures.
Superior Soil Interlock; The optimized grid structure enhances interaction between the geogrid and surrounding soil, improving overall stability.
Outstanding Durability;Resistant to environmental aging, weathering, and mechanical damage, ensuring a long service life.
UV Resistance;Protective PVC or polymer coating provides excellent resistance to ultraviolet exposure during installation and service.
Application Fields:
Transportation Infrastructure (Roads, Railways, and Airports)
This is the most common application field. The geogrid acts as a reinforcement interlayer within the pavement structure.
Asphalt Pavement Reinforcement (Anti-Reflective Cracking): Placed between the old concrete pavement and the new asphalt overlay. The low elongation (≤10-12%) of polyester geogrid absorbs tensile stresses, preventing cracks from the old layer reflecting up through the new asphalt.
Subgrade Strengthening (Soft Soil): When laid on weak or swampy foundations, the grid "locks" with the aggregate above. This increases the bearing capacity, reducing rutting and differential settlement.
Railway Ballast Reinforcement: Placed beneath railway tracks to stabilize ballast (crushed stones), reducing lateral movement and reducing maintenance frequency.
Slope & Embankment Engineering
When constructing steep slopes or widening existing embankments, gravity alone is insufficient to hold the soil.
Steep Slope Stabilization: The geogrid is laid in horizontal layers within the slope fill. As the soil tries to slide downward, the grid grips the soil particles, creating a reinforced "soil mass" that stands at steeper angles (e.g., 70° instead of 45°).
Embankment Widening: When adding lanes to a highway, new fill placed on the old slope tends to slide off. Polyester geogrid ties the new fill to the existing embankment, preventing separation.
Retaining Walls (MSE Walls)
Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls rely almost entirely on geogrids to hold back soil.
Wrap-Face Walls: The geogrid is rolled out, the soil is placed, and the excess grid is folded back over the soil (like wrapping a present) to create a green or vegetated wall face.
Modular Block Walls: The grid is attached to concrete blocks (the wall face) and extends deep into the backfill. The weight of the soil on the grid holds the wall upright.

FAQ:
Q1: What is Polyester Geogrid?
A: Polyester geogrid is a high-strength geosynthetic material used for soil reinforcement and stabilization. It is manufactured from high-tenacity multifilament polyester yarns that are precision-knitted into a dimensionally stable grid structure, then coated with a protective polymer (such as PVC, bitumen, or latex) for enhanced durability . It is sometimes referred to as "fiber soft steel" due to its high tensile strength and low elongation .
Q2: What are the main types of Polyester Geogrid?
A: Polyester geogrids are available in two primary configurations :
Biaxial Geogrid: Equal tensile strength in both the warp (machine) and weft (cross) directions (e.g., 30 kN/m × 30 kN/m, 50×50, up to 300×300). Used for applications requiring load distribution in multiple directions, such as road bases and pavement reinforcement.
Uniaxial Geogrid: Significantly higher strength in one direction (e.g., 100 kN/m × 30 kN/m, up to 400×50). Used for retaining walls and steep slopes where the load is primarily in a single direction.
